JOB TITLE: Mobile Youth Navigator

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Temporary Full-time (2 Years)

HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Mobile Youth Navigator will travel to rural communities impacted by wildfires, engaging youth in recreation opportunities, while assisting youth and their families to discover services and supports available to them, leading towards resiliency and improved well-being. This position will work closely with the Program Coordinator of the Mobile Resiliency Program.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A diploma in the Human Service Field or a degree in Social Work, Child & Youth Care, or ECE
2. Good written and verbal communication skills, good computer skills including use of email, internet and Microsoft Office
3. Ability to teach/model childcare and parenting skills and to work effectively with other professionals
4. Ability to multi-task and work with the demands of a diverse team environment and cross-cultural settings
5. Effective interpersonal communication skills
6. Must possess and maintain a valid BC driver’s license
7. Current Pediatric First Aid (or willing to obtain)
8. Must have own reliable vehicle suitable for travel
9. Current satisfactory criminal record check required
